In the early afternoon Amsterdam Sinfonietta presents a programme about the balance between the male and female principle in Yin Yang for eleven solo string musicians, by André Jolivet, a present for his wife on their anniversary. Following a brief scene change, they will play the string sextet Verklärte Nacht by Arnold Schönberg. This tells how a man and a woman who is expecting someone else's child find each other again during a night-time walk. |
